Adoption Update - February Waitlist Number

In our last update, we were number 18 on the waitlist.

Our February waitlist update is... our number is still 18.

There were no referrals (little ones matched with families) again. Four months in a row.

And they can no longer give a referral timeline - when a little one miiight get matched with a family. It had changed from 12 months when we first, excitedly, got on the waitlist about 8 months ago, to 12-15 months, then 15-18 months. And now... they can't put a time frame on it.

While we are bummed to not have had any movement, we are thankful that our agency is doing everything they possibly can to make sure that each referral that comes across their desk, every orphanage they decide to partner with, is investigated to the point of knowing that each little one is truly an orphan and that everything is being done in the best interest of the little ones, whether that is reunification, being adopted in country in Uganda, or international adoption. Which is the main reason for the delay/lengthened processes.

Our heart is aching for our newest little one to join our family. We know that He is in control. That He has our newest little girl in His hands. That He has our family in His hands.

We're trying hard to not think about the wait. But boy, it is going to be a long pregnancy.

You know, you enjoy and savor each day with your little family, and when you're expecting, there is an added excitement for all of the littles to meet each other and be together and for your family to be together. And it is so, so sweet to see the excitement in our littles about getting to have another sister. Pure sweetness. They say they'll share all their toys! ;) They have asked for three more brothers and three more sisters. :) And most recently ten more sisters and ten more brothers. Hehe, silly sweet littles.

We continue to thank you for all of your prayers, support, thoughts, inquiries, and love. We are not ashamed to say that we need it. So much love and lots of hugs! Lots. ;)

We're waiting for you sweet girl!!

{A sweet sweet friend gave us a print with this verse on and I can't wait to frame it.}

It’s been more than a year since this update -- I hope that this “long pregnancy” will soon be over. I’m happy to see your family coming together and creating a wonderful home. I hope you’ll be able to be with your newest little girl soon!
