Toy Corner: Before and After

It's no secret that I love organization! I get really excited about organizing. :) I love shopping for supplies to organize, seeing fun cute ways to organize, I even love browsing organization supplies "just for fun" and for ideas!

[I love office supplies too! Pens - smoooooth ones of course, a notebook for Bible study or Small Group notes, Sharpies - I recently bought some ultra fines!, even just some good 'ole paper clips, haha, there are some cute ones too! :) And OH I had the best time getting all of my school supplies and organizing my notebooks and backpack before the school year started!]

We end up spending most of our time when we are home in our family room. We play a little in the living room and the basement, but we really spend the majority of our time hanging out, playing, learning, playgrouping or playdating :) in the family room. This means the family room must contain a toy corner! It works out really well because it is in a far corner of the room behind the couch and side table so it isn't really visible when you first glance into the room. But, it was starting to have a mind of it's own, so I needed to re-organize it! Yay! haha.

Before - Baskets: a puzzle basket, a miscellaneous toy basket, and a book basket. They looked great at first and then became a little overrun :) - I believe I got the baskets at Michaels (on sale!)and TJMaxx.

After - Cube shelf and canvas bins from Target!

It might be a little bulky, but we love it for now! It is so easy to keep organized. The only thing is the labels won't stay on! Has anyone used any good labels that stick to canvas? :)

The After cost: The Cube organizer (by Closetmaid) originally $49.99 was on sale for $39.99 and the Canvas bins (also by Closetmaid) were $6.99 each*, with a bunch of colors to choose from. Not too bad for a space that will get a lot of use out of it and needs to look pretty in a high traffic room! (I usually build these things myself while Hubby's working and the littles are napping and they are so easy! We have gotten maaany pieces from Target and they are always SO easy and quick!)

Here is the "after" room from a glance!

Do you love to organize? Have you gotten any organizational treasures you love that we should know about? :)

Happy Organizing!!

*Some colors come in packs of two for an even better deal as well.

I love those cubes from Tar-jay. Well, I love just about everything I get from Tar-jay. ;)

We have three of those cubes in our home...two of which we mounted on the wall! I love how they seem to match well with our bookshelves which are from Ikea. And, you're right, they are super easy to put together.

I saw those cubes and things at Target and I immediately wanted them BUT I refrained. She'll get them when she is older. :) Great job on the organization Mama!

How about trying to attach labels to the handles of the bins instead?
