Nakey Wall Needs Help!

First, thank you girls so much for praying for our friend's Mom and family! I cannot tell you how much that means to me and to them! The family is actually checking our blog so I know they are so blessed knowing so many more prayers are going up to our Heavenly Father!

Secondly, I finally got my shelves up!

I feel bad posting something fun when friends are suffering, but just know we are praying.

I still have some tweeking to do, it looks a little empty, and I need to frame some more family pics, but it's a start for a once nakey wall!

Now, I'm still debating what to do with nakey wall #2!

It's so big! I was suggested it could be the "family" wall...we had thought flat screen and prices might be coming waaaay down soon!...but then the couch would be really far into the room...I thought about getting an 8x10 comfy light tan area rug to frame out a couch on the back wall and a loveseat under the shelves...I really like the Tuscan coffee house, villa, scenery, art...but how many prints and how to keep it from looking cluttered or too empty...bc if you get one large print would it look wierd to have a few smaller prints asymmetrically around it...and it sort of has to match theme of the shelves since the walls touch...

This has been going on in my head for too long now, ahhh :)

The pic on the far right next to the table right now just a pretty flower but I was thinking a scene as well so when you sit and sip some coffee you can look out into the beautiful scenery or feel like you're in Italy at a cute coffee shop or restaurant!

Ok girls, watcha got for me and this nakey wall?!

I love the shelves!! I actually have shelves like that in 2 different places in my house. As for the other big naked wall, I've done a couple of different things and of course I don't have pictures---but, on one wall I did a huge framed print with a shelf next to it with a grouping of cute things and then a candle sconce above the shelf. The other thing I've done is above our bed I put 2 similar photos staggered in a diagonal. You might be able to find 4 or 5 similar prints that would look good in a grouping! Good luck!

Wow, that is a big ol' wall! I would suggest three or four large pictures of the same theme - you can usually find paintings somewhere that look similar. Staggering or lining them up would look great. You could also get two large pieces and then put some cool candle sconces on either side.

Love the shelves - I have some of those in our bedroom. Love them!

I love the wall with the shelves. The shelves look great and I love the Cappucino and Espresso pictures. Too cute!
I am thinking some "Tuscan" scenery pictures to get that feeling of being in a little Italian Bistro! Wish I could sip coffee and chat with you when it's all finished!!
Looking great so far!

Hey! I have a picture on my blog from touring some homes yesterday that might give you an idea. I'm going to do it....one of these days. It would be a great way to show off that sweet baby!

I'm not sure how the things are put together, but I got a card from the store that sells the things. In the next week or two I'm going to go in and look them over really closely and then figure out how to do it myself. Which, of course, means that I'm going to figure out how to tell my husband to do it. You should see the kitchen island he built for us when we remodeled our kitchen. He's a handy fellow.

Anyway, if you're interested, once I've scoped it out, I'll let you know how the things are made. I'll even take more pictures! :)

I saw a site that showed words or scriptures painted on the wall...it was SO pretty. They did a lot of cute things in baby rooms, but how cool would it be to have your favorite scripture on that wall?????

If I can find the site, I'll send it to you.

The shelves look great! I like the look of 3 similar pictures hung up next to each other. You could do 3 different scenery pictures of Italy, or wherever you want...The wall is so big, the pictures could be good sized.

I agree with the others...I think having a set of three prints/paintings would be great. I also love the idea of the scripture!

What about some of the word art vinyl lettering that is really popular now? Etsy is full of people who do all kinds of sayings/scripture/family name, etc. I love them all!

I have a huge wall that I filled with more family photos with black and white frames... I got the frames at Goodwill and painted them black. I posted about it a few months ago...it took awhile to put them all together but I love having the photos there!

I think two or maybe three large picturs would look awesome on that wall! I love HUGE pictures. And two side by side would look awesome :)

Is that a fire place in the corner? Nice! But I saw when the guy from Oprah did a make over - he took someone's wedding picture & blew it up really big - like poster board size & had it made in black & white with a black frame & then had the family pictures around that in smaller frames - it was beautiful! Go for bold with that big wall!!!!!

And personally - a flat screen wound be fantastic there!!!

I'd say a big picture with some smaller ones around it..something with a theme. If you did the coffee house type thing, you could even put up one of those metal word things...You know, they say "Coffee" or whatever the word is.. I'm totally not explaining this right!! LOL Good luck!

The shelves look good...I love the Tuscany look too!!! That's what I have tried to do in my kitchen! I need shelves too...it's about the only way I can display anything with having the 2 little ones around!!!

i had a HUGE Nakey wall...what I started do was a big black and white collage....so I have all different size b/w pics in all different kinds of black frames and hung up over the wall with a small space in between and they sort of fit like a puzzle, but not too perfect...just enough to look like they "go".
