BabyBoy's 1st Birthday!

BabyBoy turned one! We cannot believe it! It has been such an exciting and amazing year. Lots of new learning experiences, lots of trial and error, lots of learning how our little guy thinks. We've watched his sweet personality come out more and more throughout the year. He has gone through hold me phases, independent phases, I don't want to eat that phases (in which case we say, yes you will, love you), big gigantic eater phases--no wait that has been since he was born...Mommy's appetite!, smiling at home like crazy but not in public much phases, now he smiles at almost everyone (with the goofball smile :)). I still have to find you a picture of that smile :) This is BabyBoy on his 1st Birthday party!

I was determined to make BabyBoy's 1st Birthday cake myself...all by myself. My Mom used to make cool cakes for our birthdays and I wanted to start the tradition for BabyBoy. So here it is!

I don't know if you can really see it in the picture, but notice the grass around the top of the cake and the grass tufts on the cake (I was very excited about the grass), haha.

Yes, the baseball is an actual cake!--this was BabyBoy's cake, we just took it off and it became his 1st cake. It took a bit of time to make the model design of the sheet cake but not too long to actually execute the icing decorating.

I also made homemade peanut butter cups--yummy! Sports themed of course :)

We had a great time with family and friends, there were 20+ in attendance. We missed my family from Arizona but look forward to seeing them soon. Here is BabyBoy with his Great Grandma and Great Granny.

BabyBoy was hilarious eating his first cake. He was so dainty and delicate. With the entire cake sitting before him, he pinchered a tiny piece of icing that was right in front of him not delving into the whole cake--that would have been too messy :) After a few neat little bites, Grandma and Daddy pushed his hands into the cake to let him know he could dig in. Bigger bites but still not too messy :) When we figured he had had enough we said ok all done buddy and started to take his tray off and he signed please please please. Everyone cracked up and since he asked so nicely we gave him some more, haha.

Uncle Mikey wanted us to frame the messiest cake picture that we have...this is it :)

Ah the Beach

We are safely at the beach. We were the first ones to arrive so we had Saturday night to ourselves. We took BabyBoy down to the beach and he loved it! He got his feet (and knees...whoa here comes the water!) wet. Sunday morning he woke up and Hubby went to get him. BabyBoy gave him a smile (his new goofy smile, I'll find a pic with the new goofball smile :)) and pointed to the window. Hubby opened the blinds and BabyBoy laughed and started rubbing his chest, saying please (sign language, so cute) that he wanted the ocean! Oh if we could give him the ocean, what an amazing creation.

The Year Was...

We're glad to hear from everybody! But, nobody guessed the year! The year was...2003!

And who are these fine folks, pregnant with...the twins? There you were :)

Yester Years :)

Here are some pictures that I just came across as I was putting together a 1st year slideshow for Baby Boy's 1st Birthday...

Can you guess in what year all of the following pictures were taken?

Notice the haircut...I was thinking about cutting it again, but I feel as though I am more of a long-hair-gal...I think this was the only time my hair was this short since my birth!

Tennis buddies!
Bet em' up at the horse race :) Where did those pants come from?

Quick Happy Sleep Recipe

The most important ingredient is the last one that I will mention.

Baby Boy's bedtime routine consists of: Change diaper and sleepy clothes, milk, brush teeth, book, cuddle, prayer, bed...then add a little squeeze on his little bum and he giggles, and lean down for little soft kisses on his neck (you have to nuzzle in), he chuckles some more. He has been sticking his little rear up in the air when we lay him down and it is in perfect position for a squeeze and a laugh.

We have noticed that when we make him giggle with a squeeze and some kisses before he goes to sleep, he falls asleep so much quicker and without a fight. So, if you are having trouble falling know what to do!

Five Amazing Years!

Today is our 5 Year Wedding Anniversary! We have had such an unforgettable five years of marriage together (we've been together for almost 10 years). We have learned so much about life, each other, and about God--He is surely faithful--and Hubby too! I have had such incredible care taken of me! We have been so blessed over the past five years, we cannot begin to list. Ok, done with the cheese...I love you Hubby!

I am trying to preserve some bit of sanity without internet access, so I apologize to you wonderful faithful readers for the lack of posts, more to come soon...I hope :)
